Designed & Planned Two Extensions in Portishead

Image for Designed & Planned Two Extensions in Portishead

I have designed and planned two sets of extensions to this rather ordinary 60’s bungalow on Combe Avenue in Portishead

The photo shows Phase 1, the rear extension, which successfully accommodates the new lounge. We have provided a vaulted roof and the floor is set lower than the main floor to provide additional height within the lounge

The attractive low maintenance cladding to the extension gives a seaside feel too and has given this bungalow a more contemporary appearance.

My client has now asked me to design a side extension to the kitchen along with an attached garage. Planning permission has been gained and construction has just started.

Design an Extension in Clevedon

Two years ago, I was asked to design an extension to the lounge area of this attractive 70s house in Pyne Point in Clevedon

Initially the extension will act as a play area for the younger occupants with direct access to the garden..

Later it will of course become an addition to the main lounge area with the benefit of the large areas of glazing and its dynamic sloping vaulted ceiling.

House conversion

Avonmouth

Mark Bigwood Properties Ltd. asked me to prepare a design and planning application for the conversion of this existing large Edwardian doctors’ house into five self-contained flats.

To meet the building regulations acoustic measures were added to the existing timber floors and to maximise the return on this speculative development, constructed behind the existing flat roof parapet and off the flat roof, is a new mansard roof accommodating a penthouse apartment.

Accessible Disabled Toilet

Within the confines of  two neighbouring  Anglican churches I prepared the required building plans and faculty plans to allow for the incorporation of accessible toilets. The churches both now benefit from disabled friendly wc facilities.

Eco-friendly barn conversion conversion of two adjoining large stone granary barns and outbuildings into six bedroomed house formerly on Lord Wraxall’s Estate.

The barns have oak roof trusses and use minimalist internal design to produce galleried bedrooms and all within a tight budget. The project includes the conversion of outbuildings into two bedroomed self- contained annexe.
